Arthur Rimbaud’s poems and works have been translated by Brook Beyene

The French President Emmanuel Macron and the Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed leafing through the library edition of Passages. Passages (Bernard Dumerchez publishing house) is the French presidential gift to the Ethiopian Prime Minister. This is the first translation into Amharic of the French poet Arthur Rimbaud, who lived 10 years in Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa (1881-1891). Arthur Rimbaud’s poems and works have been translated by Brook Beyene, François Morand and Dr. Berhanu Abebe, and edited and prefaced by Alain Sancerni and Jean-Michel Le Dain. A co-edition has been published in Ethiopia with Shama Books and the French Embassy support.
On the same occasion, the library edition of Rimbaud selon Harar by Alain Sancerni and the artist Joël Leick (Bernard Dumerchez publishing house), has been given by the French President to the Ethiopian President Mrs Sahle Work Zewde.
